What is Lived-in Blonde and how do I create this for my clients in salon?
Lived-in Blonde is super big at the moment, trending on socials, clients know it and clients are asking for it in the salon.
Here are the steps you should take when working with a client:
- The Art of Consultation
- Service & Technique
- Upkeeping the Look
1. Consultation – The most important thing
First, you need to understand your client, building that trust - What are they expecting? What is their hair story?
Consultation tips:
- Customise the hair colour to match and enhance your clients eye colour. If your client wants brighter eyes, make the hairline a little bit lighter than the rest of the hair.
- Consider the skin tone of your client. In summer it’s nice to create some warmer tones to brighten everything up.
- Take your clients style into consideration. Have a look at their clothes, their hair, their fashion – it’s a total look.
2. Service and technique
First, you need to understand your client, building that trust - What are they expecting? What is their hair story?
Consultation tips:

3. Upkeeping the look
At home maintenance
Sell a blonde specific care range to your clients to help them maintain their colour at home.
Make a plan
Recommend a series of tailored colour services for your client’s future visits. Let them come back in 4-5 weeks for a glossing service, 12 weeks for a face frame refresh or rebook a regular appointment with your client before they leave the salon, so they come back every 5-6 weeks.
Experience Permanent Repair With BLONDME
Prevent breakage and keratin loss with BLONDME and create up to 20 times stronger hair after just one use.
“The BLONDME range is so much more than just lighteners and pastel toners. There is a huge selection of products within the family of BLONDME, and a standout for me would have to be Lift & Blend, which is ideal for more mature clients who want to soften and enhance their colour without the opaque coverage of traditional permanent colour.
Also, once client’s have invested in a stunning BLONDME salon service, it only makes sense that they should protect that investment with the right care. The BLONDME care range has everything covered for you”
