Go naked
Contouring and strobing are likely to never go out of fashion, as they’ve always been a constant go-to for celebrities on the red carpet, but there’s a new look in town, and it might be even harder to master.Barely there
In life, some of the things that we think look so simple are often the most difficult to do, and that’s how some of your clients might see the barely there beauty trend. This look is about looking healthy, fresh and vibrant, but alas, it doesn’t just involve a bit of lip balm! Instead, this look is about layering, which is why it’s a great look for you, the pro, to show your clients. Challenge them to wearing the look for a big night out, or talk your bridal clients through the trend.

Prep
As with any look, moisturising the skin is key, so look at the skin type of your client; those with more oily skin will no doubt be intimidated by this ‘natural’ look, so they’ll need products that mattify and slow down oil production. Those with dry skin will need something that hydrates all day long. For problem skin, you might want to follow this step with a primer focused on disguising pores to ensure a smooth finish.
Tip: For an added boost, why not treat your client to a skin-plumping mask first? Look for masks containing Hyaluronic Acid to give them (and you) a great canvas to work with.
Base
First, it’s about illuminating the skin, prior to the foundation. There are a ton of highlighting products out there, but as this is a pre-base step, it’s best to go for a liquid product that you can smooth on where it’s needed, mostly across cheeks and brows. When it comes to the foundation, keep it light; look at mineral powder foundations or water-based liquid products, again, keeping in mind your client’s skin type. Use concealer only where necessary – no panda eyes here!

Finishing touches
Keep eyes neutral, opting for a warm brown palette that perfectly complements your client’s skin colour. This is not about adding colour; it’s about enhancing the natural eye shape. Finish with a slick of mascara.
If your client has been blessed with healthy brows, coat them with some clear mascara; if their brows look a little sparse, fill them in with a brow powder for a natural look.
For the lips, look at the colour of your client’s lips; you literally just want to add a healthy glow. A touch of shimmer is fine, but focus on shades of peach, coral, rose and bronze. Opt for a lipgloss formula or go for a smooth lip crayon. Finish with a touch of a cream blush for drier skin, or choose a velvety powder blend for oily skin.
