Blogger Rosie gives us her verdict on the new TIGI Catwalk Headshot duo
Beauty blogger from Brighton, Rosie Crompton, gives a client’s point of view on the importance of investing in salon professional hair care. Here she tries out the new TIGI Catwalk Headshot Shampoo & Conditioner Duo.When you've just walked out of the hairdressers with freshly cut and coloured hair that's bouncy, swishy and shiny, don't you just wish it would look like that all the time?! Well, if you're anything like me, your blow-drying skills may need some improvement before you can have chair-worthy hair on a daily basis - but investing in a professional salon brand shampoo and conditioner is a good place to start.
Using shampoos and conditioners found on the supermarket shelves isn't going to be much help in preserving your salon-fresh look. Packed full of harsh sulphates (that's why they're so cheap!), shop bought products can strip away colour and be incredibly drying, leaving your hair looking dull, limp and lifeless. It's a bit like buying a new designer dress, throwing it in the washing machine with some powder and hoping for the best, instead of taking it to be professionally dry cleaned. You wouldn't risk ruining your expensive new dress, so why treat your hair any differently?!
I recently had my hair coloured using the balayage technique, and left the salon with rich, multi-tonal highlights which I've been keeping looking lovely by using the TIGI Catwalk Headshot shampoo and conditioning duo. The sulphate-free formula has been developed by the TIGI Copywright Colour Creative Team and promises to reconstruct damaged, chemically treated hair, protect colour and defend against heat damage, leaving hair smooth and sleek. The products make some bold claims, but they won me over from the first use.
There's nothing better than amazing smelling hair, and the Headshot duo is hands down the best smelling shampoo and conditioner I have ever come across. With a sweet peppermint scent, the sweetness is flirty and feminine, whilst the mintiness is invigorating and makes you feel squeaky clean.
Using the products makes for a rather lovely experience - the lovely scent fills the bathroom, the shampoo lathers up into a luxurious foam, and I can feel rough cuticles instantly smooth down and tangles effortlessly slip out as I work the product in to my hair.
After drying (no need for a heat defense spray, as the formula contains heat protective properties) my hair is left super soft, shiny and manageable, as well as smelling gorgeous. Unlike cheap products that leave a waxy residue behind which weighs hair down, the TIGI Catwalk Headshot duo leave hair light and bouncy so it's easy to create and maintain volume. The formula works progressively wash after wash to reduce breakage and repair split ends, and so far, so good. My hair has never felt so silky!
