Top 3 Wedding Hair Trends 2024
Summer bridal hair ideas
Summer’s here and your bridal clients are getting ready for their big day! Check out some of our favourite bridal styles for summer 2024.
Bridal consultation
Helping a bride feel amazing is a task that requires attention to detail so remember to ask the right questions. For instance, consider asking the bride how she wants to feel on the day rather than asking them to give you style ideas.
You want to create a memorable moment, so it's important to plan ahead. Make sure you have the right equipment and discuss details like colour and extensions well in advance.
Once you know what look or looks your bride wants, it’s important that you pack accordingly. If your bride has short hair and won't be wearing a veil, there's no need to pack extensions or hair pads. Check your inventory early to save space.
Prep and attention will give your bride the hair of her dreams and a day to remember.
Boho bride
Boho style always come back around for brides because it’s such a romantic aesthetic. A key part of that romance are braided styles. They add softness and are also brilliant for adding pretty little details on the day.
Consider loose, braided hairstyles for a relaxed boho look. Try tiny braids to frame the face or create a sleek, braided updo for a polished finish. Also try using floral clips and decorative ribbons for your bridal trials to add another dimension.
Hollywood glam
Some brides want to look like a Hollywood star on their wedding day. Soft, flowing waves are a glamorous hairstyle choice for achieving this iconic look. The classic route to tumbling waves is of course rollers, but you can also get the look by creating curls with your curling irons and then pinning them up while they cool. Once cooled, simply release the curls and brush them through to reveal super soft waves that keep their shape.
Classic minimalism
We’ve seen the influence of the minimalist ‘90s over the past few years, and brides are no exception to this ultra-polished style. This look is all about stripping things back – simple yet perfectly styled, without a hair out of place.
Wedding expert Shelley Lane explains:
“There are many variations of this style, from a sleek bun to a low chignon or ponytail. It definitely works better on longer hair, so if you’ve got a bride who’s keen to wear this look and has shorter hair, encourage her to grow her hair long enough to add in extensions before the big day. What’s great about this versatile classic, is that it suits all types of dress and venue, and it works with a veil as well.”

Something Old - Something New
Does the bob ever go out of style? Short answer: No. The reason for the evergreen appeal of the bob is because, depending on the length, it’s a look that can suit any face shape or hair texture. Right now, it can be anything from a short and swingy French girl bob, a luxurious long bob, or a razor-cut curly bob. For Tori Kiff, it’s about keeping things fresh with the addition of a fringe.
“I love updating a classic curly bob with a fringe, especially as so many of my curly clients seem to think it’s a style they shouldn’t have. I’ve managed to show so many clients that it’s all down to fear and that actually, a curly bob is so flattering and easy to style; I advise them to use their fingers to curl their fringes or to use a brush when styling,” shares Tori.
Of course, the most modern way to wear a bob is the Bixie, a hybrid of the bob and pixie; think classic bob updated with a fringe or micro bangs, or you could play with the Butterfly Bob. RUSH Creative Director Andy Heasman’s a fan.
