Party season essentials
Is your party season kit sorted, or are you missing a few tools and products to really send your clients out with a bang?Tip 1
Just as with make up, nothing creates staying power better than applying the right base. Now, more than ever, stylists know that the right prep can make all the difference between a style that lasts all day, and a client who gets upset at the sight of floppy curls!
Our faves: L’Oréal Professionnel série expert SHINE BLONDE Shampoo and Conditioner and TIGI Bedhead Urban Antidotes Resurrection Shampoo
Tip 2
Once the hair is cleansed, it’s time to prescribe a product that directly fits a clients’ needs. Consider whether they need texture, volume or something to give their slippy hair a grip, then think about the formula that you can best meet those requirements with. Be it wax, powder or serum, we have a whole range of prep products at the ready.
Our faves: Schwarzkopf Osis+ Dust It and L'Oreal Professionnel Techni.ART Pli
Style
Now it’s time to shape the look! You can stick with wet or dry products, or you can bring in the big guns – your electrical tools. Once more, the poker straight look is back for women with some decent length, but this is a look that also works with a fake ponytail. Don’t forget your curly clients though; think about volume for those who want big, lush curls, or consider diffusers, for clients who want to make the most of their natural curls. And don’t forget those who want some gorgeous, one-night-only curls, thanks to a handy pair of tongs.
Our faves: Parlux 3200 Compact Dryer 1900w, the BaByliss PRO Titanium Expression Big Hair Hot Air Brush and the Diva Feel The Heat Intelligent Styler
Finish
This is your final chance to ensure there’s no dropping out later! Feel free to cocktail a couple of products; just make sure you don’t add too much weight/wetness. Finishing can be all about a glossy sheen, or keeping things very firmly in place.
Our faves: Schwarzkopf Silhouette Flexible Hold Hairspray and Osmo Blinding Shine Illuminating Finisher
